“Daiichi Asahi” has its main store near Kyoto Station. We went to its Shinjuku branch.
The main store is popular with long lines of customers!

There used to be a “Daiichi Asahi” store near where I lived for a while, so I have been familiar with the taste since I was a student.
I never thought I would be able to taste it in Tokyo.
I have been to the main store in Kyoto, but while the Kyoto store has a long line, I was able to enter the Shinjuku store at night without waiting in line!

I ordered the char siu noodle! I like the char siu pork here.
I especially love Daiichi Asahi’s thin, salty char siu pork!
I bought a meal ticket at the entrance, handed it to the waiter, and waited at my seat for my ramen to be brought to me at just the right moment.
The char siu noodle which was brought to me.
Yes, nice aroma. It’s spectacular, covered all over with char siu pork.

First, the soup. Drinking the soup, you can taste the umami and fat of animal origin, and the salt content is just the right thickness. It reminds me of the taste of old-fashioned ramen.
Next, the noodles. Thin, straight noodles. I always order my noodles hard. It is really delicious with a sticky texture. These noodles have a traditional flavor and go well with the soup!
And then there are the ingredients. The thick bamboo shoots have a soft texture. And the green onions add a touch of color. The crunchy texture of the noodles in the soup is so delicious that you cannot stop eating it. Combined with the generous amount of soup, it makes you want to eat more and more.
Speaking of char siu noodle, the char siu pork is gorgeously arranged! Although sliced thinly, it has a firm texture and deep flavor. The mouth-watering chashu pork makes the dish even more filling.

Thus, the famous “Daiichi Asahi Shinjuku Branch” offers the same delicious, old-fashioned Kyoto ramen in Tokyo.
I highly recommend everyone to try their char siu noodle at least once!

We enjoyed it deliciously. Thank you very much for your hospitality.
