Special soy sauce ramen|Nara seimen
This time we visited “Nara seimen”.
From the exterior of the store, it is difficult to see what kind of world is spreading before one’s eyes. The appearance of the restaurant is like a hideout or a bar, and when you open the entrance door, you are greeted by a cozy space with a neat, clean, and relaxing atmosphere. The tables are lit by warm, soft light, and there are only eight counter seats. Each of those seats is a special place where soothing time passes slowly.
While looking at the menu, I asked the waitress what kind of ramen she recommended, and she recommended the “Special soy sauce ramen”. Hand towels and chopsticks are taken out by customers themselves from a drawer placed on their seats. The bricks are all differently patterned, and the meticulous attention to detail is an expression of Japanese beauty.
After a few minutes of waiting, the ramen was ready. It looks perfectly like ramen. The deep-colored soup has a sweet taste based on animal broth and a sharp soy sauce. Once you taste it, you will never forget the special flavor of “Nara seimen”.
The noodles are thin and straight, not too hard, but just the right amount of softness.
Toppings include young bamboo shoots, three kinds of pork char siu (two kinds of pork and chicken breast), green onions, and a boiled egg. The young bamboo shoots stands out in particular, with its unique texture providing an exquisite accent. The pork char siu pork comes in two varieties, thinly sliced and cubed, and the addition of chicken breast gives the dish a wide range of flavors. The size of the boiled egg is also surprising.
This dish is served at Naramen, which has been named one of the “100 Best Udon Noodle Restaurants”. It looks like ramen itself, but it is completely udon on the inside. This unique combination makes you feel as if you could eat either ramen or udon! The taste is so outstanding that it makes you feel as if you could eat it as either ramen or udon.
All in all, the charm of “Nara seimen” is not only the delicious food, but also the atmosphere of the restaurant, the attention to detail in the design of the tableware and other details, and the space that combines all the tastes of the restaurant.
We enjoyed the food again. Thank you very much. Thank you very much.
