I had been curious about this ramen restaurant since I passed by “Menya Taisei” and saw many people standing in line.
This time, I went to “Menya Taisei”, prepared to wait in line for a long time.

“Menya Taisei” is a ramen restaurant serving the popular “Ie-kei ramen,” which has always had a long line since it opened.
(“Ie-kei ramen” is a generic name for a type of ramen originating from Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture, characterized by a thick soup based on pork bones and soy sauce, and thick, straight noodles.)

The secret behind Menya Taisei’s popularity is that it is an “Ie-kei ramen” that offers the delicious taste of chicken and soy sauce.

We arrived around 11:30 a.m., and there was still a long line of people already waiting, with more than 20 people in line.
It seems that you have to buy a meal ticket from the ticket machine outside the restaurant before standing in line.
(If you are planning to visit Menya Taisei, be sure to buy your meal ticket before getting in line.)

After standing in line for about 45 minutes, we were finally able to enter the restaurant.
Since it is “Ie-kei ramen,” when ordering, you specify the “hardness of the noodles” and “amount of oil.” This time, I ordered “Jo tokusen ramen” (Special ramen), which is recommended by the restaurant, with “hard noodles and normal oil”.

As is characteristic of all “Ie-kei” ramen restaurants, rice can be ordered free of charge.
The ordered rice is served immediately. The rice is served with pickles on the table.
I was so hungry while waiting in line that I finished my bowl of rice before the ramen was served.

The ramen you have been waiting for is served.
Just as I was finishing my bowl of rice with pickles, the “Jo tokusen ramen” (Special ramen) that I had been waiting for was served.
It looks very tasty from the outside.
I had already eaten a full bowl of rice, but I ordered another large bowl of rice because I wanted to eat “Ie-kei ramen” with rice.

“Jo tokusen ramen” (Special ramen) has quite a variety of toppings. The toppings alone are quite generous, with five sheets of nori (seaweed) and three pieces of char siu (pork).
The char siu pork is cooked a little rare and moist. There were also other pieces of char siu cut into small dice.

The soup is said to be a mix of pork and chicken, and is smooth with a strong chicken flavor. The soy sauce flavor is mild and robust.
While I was eating, I mixed garlic, which was placed on the tabletop, into the soup. The garlic mixes with the entire soup and gives it a different taste.

After finishing the ramen, satisfaction is extreme.

Although I would have loved to just sit back and enjoy the feeling of satisfaction after eating my ramen, there were many customers waiting in line outside the restaurant for this ramen, so I left the restaurant early after eating my ramen.

I knew “Ie kei ramen” was delicious! Menya Taisei’s ramen is definitely one of the best among the many “Ie-kei ramen” restaurants!
I felt that there was a strong originality in the unique, thick broth flavor.
I can understand why so many people are lining up in long lines to try this ramen. I would like to come back to eat it again.

It was delicious. Thank you for the food. Thank you very much.
