Special kelp stock dipping noodle with soy sauce|Menya Newold
“Menya Newold” is a ramen restaurant in JR Amagasaki Station in Hyogo Prefecture.
I visited “Menya Newold” on the recommendation of an acquaintance.
Since it was my first visit, I thought about having ramen, but I heard that “Kombusui tsukemen” (Kelp stock dipping noodle) is delicious here, so I gave up on ramen and had “Tokusei Kombusui tsukemen shoyu” (Special kelp stock dipping noodle with soy sauce).
Since it was Tsukemen (dipping noodle), it seemed to take longer to serve than ramen.
The “Tsukemen” were served in about 10 minutes.
The first impression I got was that it was very elegantly arranged. It looks like Japanese food and gives a sense of luxury.
The noodles dipped in kelp stock look like they are shining, and with the lime garnish, you can feel the refreshing seasonal coolness from the appearance.
Many of the ingredients are also served separately to keep the soup cold.
The noodles used in the “Tokusei Kombusui tsukemen shoyu” are already delicious on their own when eaten without dipping them in the dipping sauce. The thickening and umami of the kelp stock is entwined with the noodles, and that alone is a classy taste. This may be the first time that I have eaten only the noodles and thought they were so delicious.
The dipping sauce is not seafood-based, but soy sauce-based.
When the noodles are dipped in the dipping sauce, the kelp stock adds a thickening effect, and the soy sauce is really tasty.
The “salt” version of tsukemen seems to be more refreshing, so “shio” (salt) may be perfect for the hot season.
Next time, I’ll try the shio (salt). But I also want to try ramen…
What a sinful restaurant to make us worry even about the menu for the next time we come.
That’s how good it was, and I thank God that I found a wonderful ramen restaurant.
It was delicious. Thank you for the food. Thank you very much.
