We visited “Mendokoro-Kinari”, a remarkable ramen restaurant that was selected as a Bib Gourmand in the “Michelin Guide Tokyo”. The owner, Kazuhiko Koshikawa, has a background in French cuisine and uses his unique taste to create unique ramen. His unique twist on ramen, such as adding sherry to soy sauce, makes his ramen a special treat that can only be found here.

This ramen restaurant is located on a back street about a four-minute walk from Higashi(East)-Nakano Station in Tokyo, and is very much in keeping with the stylish atmosphere of the surrounding area. Since there is another famous restaurant, Kashiwagi, in the same area, many people enjoy a series of meals, enjoying ramen followed by another delicious dish.

We visited at 7:00 p.m. on a weekday and were fortunate enough to enter the restaurant without a wait. Inside the restaurant, there were tables, and the space was warm and inviting to the people. The kindness of the staff allowed us to enjoy our ramen in a relaxed atmosphere.

I was particularly impressed with the “Soy sauce ramen no artificial”. This ramen had a gentle taste of broth overflowing with the flavor of dashi, and the combination with the medium-thin straight noodles was exquisite.

The ramen was also topped with pork loin char siu pork, chicken char siu pork, and duck char siu pork, each exquisitely cooked to perfection. In addition, quality toppings such as semi-boiled ajitama(seasoned egg) and ear-tip bamboo shoots further enhanced the perfection of this ramen.

Once I realized how delicious it was, the ramen was gone in one sitting. We were so amazed at how good it tasted that we eagerly await our next visit. I definitely recommend this restaurant to ramen lovers.

We enjoyed it very much. Thank you very much for your hospitality. Thank you very much.
