Assorted dipping noodles｜Menya Mugiemon

We visited “Menya Mugiemon”, a ramen restaurant located in the Shinjuku Station neighborhood of Tokyo. This restaurant was smooth upon arrival, but the interior was not empty; it was moderately busy with seats almost completely occupied.

I visited the restaurant for the tsukemen(dipping noodles), which offers multiple types of noodles, so I ordered the “Aimori tsukemen” (Assorted dipping noodles). I purchased a meal ticket from the ticket machine right outside the entrance and handed it to the staff. I waited at my seat and was soon served my tsukejiru (dipping soup) and noodles.

The unique feature of the “Aimori tsukemen” (Assorted dipping noodles) is that you can enjoy three different types of noodles. Each type of noodle is unique and impressive: brown noodles made of whole wheat flour, glutinous and slippery noodles, and flat, flat noodles. The soup is rich in flavor, with a seafood base, and the richness of the animal base and the aroma of dried bonito flakes are an exquisite match.
Particularly delicious were the whole-grain brown noodles. With a firm texture and flavor, they were a perfect match for the dipping sauce, and with three different types of noodles, there was a wide variety of textures to enjoy all the way through without getting bored.
The soy sauce broth, with its rich animal flavor and dried bonito flakes, received the unique noodles well and was deliciously finished to the last.
