Special red miso ramen|Menya-sho Miso-dokoro

“Menya-sho Miso-dokoro” is a restaurant specialising in miso ramen.

Order the “Tokusei aka miso ramen” (Special red miso ramen).
(If you want to eat it with tsukemen, request it when ordering and they will accommodate you.)
I was wondering if there is a difference in taste between the ramen soup and the dipping sauce for tsukemen, but as this was my first visit, I ordered ramen.

First of all, I will start with the soup. The soup has a gentle miso taste.
It also has a delicious flavour and is a little spicy. It is not so spicy that it is difficult to eat, and is very tasty, with just a hint of spiciness.

There are many famous miso ramen shops in Hokkaido, and the noodles used at Menya shou Miso dokoro are the same thick wrinkled noodle often used for miso ramen in Hokkaido.

The ingredients are chashu pork, bean sprouts, leeks, cabbage, carrots and menma(seasoned bamboo shoots).
The “char siu pork” is also soaked in miso and is soft and very tasty.
The vegetables are well seasoned like stir-fried vegetables, and are so tasty that the vegetables alone make a fine dish. The sweetness of the vegetables also melts into the soup, balancing the spiciness.
